Bourne to Write is a writing community based in East Sussex that currently numbers over 40 writers. We run three weekly writing workshops in Eastbourne and Lewes. The workshops take a student-centred approach to creative writing, offering a range of strategies to help you develop as a writer. Participants are encouraged to explore their creative writing potential through self-awareness and self-discovery.
Led by writer Roddy Phillips the workshops are informal and great fun and you’ll find your writing developing in surprising ways. In every workshop you’ll write a timed exercise which I’ll set. Then everyone reads their piece. During the course of which there will be some discussion and I’ll raise some points. The workshop is a place for creativity and encouragement, not for criticism. I’ll set the homework for the following week and then the writers will read out their homework.
Workshops run every week at the following venues:
Monday Evening: 7.30 – 10pm at the All Saints Centre, Friar’s Walk, Lewes
Wednesday Evening: 7.30 – 10pm at the 3VA Centre 8 Saffron’s Rd Eastbourne (enter from the Old Orchard Road door)
Friday Afternoon: 2.30- 5pm The Lamb, High Street, Old Town, Eastbourne
10 Workshop sessions cost £120 which includes weekly online tutoring.
